Standby Healthcare are managing this Team Leader vacancy on behalf of one of our clients. As a Team Leader, you will lead a stable and happy team to ensure that the young people are happy and healthy.

In this Team Leader role, you will work in a 3 bedded residential service based on the site of a special education needs school. The service houses young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated difficulties. The setting is a scenic 20 acre countryside set between Ribchester and Preston, where there is plenty of opportunity for activities with service users.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a leadership position within a residential service. You will lead a team of support workers, ensuring they are operating to a high standard, as well as maintaining the happiness and welfare of young people. You will provide appropriate physical and emotional support to young people, with an emphasis on effective team management. This will include motivating, training, conducting performance reviews and audits. This is an excellent opportunity to familiarise yourself with Ofsted regulations and improve practice.

The successful applicant will have:

• Level 3 Children and Young Person qualification

• Knowledge of management principles

• Knowledge of learning disabilities

• Knowledge of a positive approach to challenging behaviours and associated learning difficulties

• Knowledge of development

• Proven experience of leading a team

• Experience of person-centred planning
