It’s #GladToCare awareness week; a week to celebrate the resilient care workers who continue to make a difference to the lives of recipients of care.

Did you know that all our Recruitment Consultants have had healthcare experience?

We spoke to our Recruitment Consultant Samantha Simpson who tells us about her healthcare journey and how it has helped her with her current role…

What healthcare role have you worked in previously, and what did you do?

I worked in care as a Support Worker then progressed to being a Care Support Officer. As a Support Worker, I supported service users in their homes with daily living needs and enabling. As a Care Support Officer, my role was to complete assessments on Support staff to ensure the correct care was being given.

Why did you work within the healthcare sector?

I enjoy providing care to vulnerable people. Knowing I was giving someone support and making a difference to someone’s life is priceless.

Is there anything within the healthcare role that has helped you to recruit for candidates in that sector?

I try to be person centred still in my role now, aiming to match candidates to the perfect setting. I have a better understanding on knowing the requirements, services and what candidates are looking for.

Is there any advice you’d give to a candidate wanting to apply for Standby?

Standby Healthcare provides the flexibility to work when you like around current commitments. We have a quick turn around for compliance and can offer you work suitable to your needs.
